Description Clinical Research Malaysia (CRM) is not for profit company and wholly owned by the Government of Malaysia's Ministry of Health. It was established in June 2012 to facilitate and enable industry sponsored research in Malaysia.

To establish Malaysia as a Preferred Destination for clinical contract research.

- Leverage the strengths of the Ministry of Health’s integrated and extensive network of hospitals.
- Offer private hospitals and universities the opportunity to resource the experience and expertise of their own specialists.
- Enhance the competency of clinical investigators study coordinators, and the rest of the research team,
- Support investigators in managing and conducting quality clinical trials in the Ministry of Health facilities.
- Provide industry with a conducive landscape that includes feasibility assessments, investigator selection, patient enrolment, site’s need for Study Coordinators, and updates to local laws, guidelines and regulations.
- Evaluate and convert enquiries from client into potential trials in Malaysia.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in developing, expanding and strengthening the research industry in Malaysia
Promote Malaysia’s favorable attributes and performances globally.

Clinical Research Malaysia was initially a part of the Ministry of Health’s Clinical Research Centre (CRC), as its One-Stop Centre, the unit responsible for industry sponsored research. In 2010, the Government adopted clinical research as one of its National Key Economic Area (Healthcare EPP2) and in June 2012, CRM was corporatised.


CRM's Comprehensive & Value-added Clinical Trials Services
- Assist the industry in identifying investigators and trial sites
- Assist investigators in conducting feasibility assessments and trial budget negotiations with sponsors/CROs
- Review of Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs) for investigators
- Management of trial budget
- Organise training related to clinical research (eg. Good Clinical Practice workshops)
- Improve the capability of sites by providing required infrastructure/facilities
- Nationwide placement of Site Research Associates (SRAs)
- Assist with patient recruitment
- Participate in key conferences to promote Malaysia as the preferred destination for ISR
