His works have been translated not only into Indian languages but into various languages of the world. In erstwhile USSR two million copies of his works were sold and doctorates were conferred on German and Czech scholars for their research on him. A Theatrical production of his novel EK AURAT HAZAR DIWANE had a long run in a Moscow theater and a children cartoon film was made based on his novel Ulta Darakht. Pakistani TV channel "Indus Vision" also showed his short story "Joota", and it was a great hit.
To Urdu language, Krishan Chander gave a prose that will remain the envy of poetry. None can match him in the mesmeric and picturesque language which gave Urdu new words, expressions and linguistic aesthetics. But in his political satires, his language is razor sharp, naked like the sword.
