New England Ballet Company of Bridgeport is proud to be the resident ballet company of the Klein Memorial Auditorium & The Bijou Theatre.
New England Ballet Company of Bridgeport is now Celebrating its 25th Season! Under the Artistic Direction of Victor Trevino, Founder/Executive Director Kenneth Hopkins. Children's Programming Director Karen Goodman, Company Manager Diana Zitnay, Ballet Mistress Linda Giancaspro. Committed to the belief that experiencing the performing arts is a vital element in the education of our children. As the "Resident Ballet Company" of the Klein Memorial Auditorium, 910 Fairfield Avenue & The Bijou Theatre, 275 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT NEBC strives to promote arts education and to serve Connecticut and the greater New England area by giving performing opportunities to dancers of all ages and levels, children through adult and student through professional.
The purpose of the Company is an educational one for the dancers and the community. The dancers benefit from the experience of working with the professional dancers, faculty, choreographers and guest artists of the company, as well as professional directors, lighting, costume and set designers. The community benefits from having its own professional level ballet company whose local school and public performances enhance arts awareness, promotes arts education in the schools and showcases Connecticut talent. "Bringing Children to the Arts & Arts to the Children" through our work providing ABCD/Bridgeport with dance programs as well as producing our now 5th annual "Adaptive Nutcracker" giving area dancers with Autism a showcase for their talents.
|Mission||New England Ballet Company was founded in 1990 by Kenneth Hopkins as a performing branch of the New England Ballet School, and was separately incorporated in 1993. NEBC achieved its non-profit status in July 1999. NEBC’s mission statement of “Bringing Children to the Arts & Arts to the Children”, motivates us to promote arts education in our schools. We exist to serve the community by providing opportunity to dancers of all ages and all ability levels. In conjunction with “Goals 2000: Educate America Act” New England Ballet Company has forged community partnerships with area schools for the purpose of educating school children in the performing arts. This initiative is called DANCE: Developing Appreciation and Nurturing in Cultural arts Education. And we are now recognizing the fact that dance education promotes school success at every level.|
