Instant Grass is a youth collaboration agency started over a decade ago in Cape Town, South Africa. Over the years they have expanded throughout Africa and all the way to the Middle East, operating now in more than 15 countries. Instant Grass creates relationships between businesses and people and gives clients an opportunity to consult and collaborate with consumers in an open and mutually beneficial manner.
By treating consumers as partners rather than end-users their clients are able to create strategies, products and messages that are based on actual consumer needs and ideas. All consumers have ideas of products that they would make if they were in charge. Through Instant Grass’ Co-lab workshops, consumers are given the opportunity to create and design products that they need and would like to use.

Instant Grass owns, manages and represents communities of the most connected, informed and influential people across the African continent. They call them grasses, slang for informer or spy. Grasses are carefully profiled and recruited to connect Instant Grass to the market segments in which their clients operate. Instant Grass allows these communities of grasses to set the agenda, which means they don’t only help their clients solve their business problems but they can also preempt business problems before they happen.

Instant Grass’ communities operate in 3 areas:
Firstly they use them as a source of INSIGHT, where the grasses invite Instant Grass and their clients into their daily lives to observe and learn - it’s a natural conversation between trusted friends, where honest opinions lead to rich, usable insights.

Secondly, Instant Grass COLLABORATES with their grasses to co-create new product and packaging ideas, making sure that the brands consumers buy and the messages they receive fit into their world, not the other way around.

Finally Instant Grass collaborates with their grasses to create credible WORD OF MOUTH around brands by putting the stickiest stories and content in the hands of the most influential and interesting people both online and offline.
