|Mission||It is a gospel truth that God Almighty has bestowed upon bewitching beauty to the world famous valley of Kashmir possesses the charisma of magnetizing saner minds and flaming the aesthetic instincts of men with soaring flights of imagination. The Persian poet went hysterical and smelled an ideal paradise in Kashmir which cradles a beauteous town called Baramulla where-in the seeds of the plant called St. Joseph's were sown way back in the year 1892. The Mill Hill Missionaries showed forth river-like munificence, sun-like bounty and earth-like hospitality in scattering the seeds of 'EDUCATION' in the soil of Kashmir. The contribution of Fr. Ignatius Brouwer, Fr. C.B. Simons and Fr. Mallet in elevating St. Joseph's to unimaginable heights amidst turbulent times, besides granting it the status of a college stands unquestionable and indescribable. The glorious legacy got transmitted to the Society of Jesus in 1987. With the course of event, the Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar Education Society held the fort in 1999. The seat of learning falls under the yoke of registered charitable society, duly recognized by the Department of Education, Govt. of Jammu and KAshmir. The fathomless contribution and devotion in preparing students for life has been the typical hallmark of St. Joseph's which functions under the motto; "Manners Maketh Man". The emphasis has been and is on 'Formation' rather than 'Information'. Currently the school is ably and dynamically headed by Fr. Sebastian Kalapurayil in the worthy compaionship of Fr. Shaiju Chacko, the Vice Principal.|
