Mission The mission of AFN Yongsan is twofold:

To provide local community command leadership with a
broadcast media resource to effectively communicate DoD, Service-unique, theater, and local command information to personnel under their command.

To provide U.S. military members, DoD civilians, and their families stationed in the Area II AOR with the same type and quality of American radio and television news, information, sports, and entertainment that would be available to them if they were in the CONUS.
Overview American Forces Network Korea broadcasts news, information and entertainment on radio and television to more than 60,000 Department of Defense servicemembers, civilians and their families serving in the Republic of Korea.

AFN Korea is a multiservice organization made up of Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors and Department of Defense and Korean civilian employees.

The Yongsan Detachment covers all Area II to include: USAG Yongsan, K-16, Camp Market and CP Tango. We serve approximately 22,000 U.S. service members, DoD civilians, KATUSAs, dependents and Korean national workers. Our radio broadcasts can also be heard throughout most of the Seoul Area- increasing our possible listenership to over 10 million.
