Ambikanagar is a small project township approximately 16 km
from bustling Dandeli city in the Haliyal taluk of Uttara
Kannada district in Karnataka. (Approx 490 KM from
Bangalore.) Ambikanagar is soaked in the green pristine
environs of the Western Ghats. The former name of
Ambikanagar is believed to be Amga.

one must reach the entrance of the caves after walking
hundreds of steps. There are numerous bats in the cave, so
visitors are told to keep their heads down. In many parts of the
caves you must crouch or even crawl. Once these ancient
limestone caves were home to prehistoric people.
