Every once in a while a screenwriter stumbles upon a story that has the power to tap into the spirit of humanity. KatyNation:The Boys of Fall is such a story. It’s told through the eyes of those who laid the groundwork for one of Texas’ elite high school football programs: Harold Andrews, who was recruited off a farm tractor to play on the first Katy Tiger football team back in 1939; Coach Gordon Brown who led the Katy Tigers to their first State Championship in 1959; Roosevelt Alexander, an African American who was not allowed through the front gate of the football stadium, but later honored at the state capitol for his contributions to education and Coach Mike Johnston, who won three Texas State H.S. Championship titles and today finds himself in the High School Football Hall of Fame.
