Philly DoGooderSociety — Community
Philly DoGooder is back! Flash Hack!
In 2013, Philly DoGooder launched, activating the city around the power of storytelling and skilled volunteering. 2014 proves to take it to another level.
The theme for Philly DoGooder II is Community Building. True communities are diverse, representing many different stakeholders. The impact community is no different. Nominations are now open to include both individuals and for profits, as well as the given nonprofit impact leaders. All are encouraged to go to http://phillydogooder.com/get-involved/ to nominate or apply.
Applications for aspiring filmmakers and impact organizations to enter the video hackathon, set for MLK Day at the ImpactHUB Philly, are open through December 31st. Only 25 spots are available, while general Awards submissions for those who have films completed run through February 1st. Participating filmmakers will receive a free group vacation care of ShootStay, a vacation concierge for creative professionals.
Co-Sponsored by Wells Fargo, the Knight Foundation, Philly in Focus, the Arts and Business Council and others, this year’s awards will be held on March 12th at the University of the Arts Hamilton Hall. 6 awards will be announced (3 from the hackathon and 3 viewers choice determined by public vote) with an overall winner decided by awards night attendees, plus 3 awards to our individual and organization leaders.
As was the case in 2013, winning organizations will receive skilled support services contributed by local marketing and communications firms specializing in digital community building.
