Saint Augustine Maritime Heritage FoundationSociety — Non-profit organization
|About||Follow us as we build a replica "Chalupa" to be a new attraction in St. Augustine and to participate with re-enactments Pedro Menendez's 1565 landing.|
Our mission, in support of St. Augustine as the nations oldest city, is to promote an understanding and awareness of the our historic waterways, its maritime heritage and to encourage greater utilization of this magnificent asset.
Our signature event that will showcase life and activity in 16th Century St. Augustine is the construction, operation and home porting of a replica 16th century Spanish vessel from the city's founding period.
We will identify and support companion maritime events, activites and projects that will enrich the waterfront through providing greater uses and connectivity between the city and harbor.
