|About||Freedom's Flame - America's 9/11 Memorial|
Freedom’s Flame is America’s memorial to 9-11. It is an exquisite sculpture that was conceived, designed and created by a highly respected team of distinguished leaders and creative talents to provide an uplifting tribute. The 35-foot high sculpture depicts a scene representative of the World Trade Center, with many features that convey the drama of the event and the fortitude of the people involved.
Adjacent to the sculpture will be actual materials from all three crash sites – the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Washington, and the Flight 93 Crash Site in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Freedom’s Flame is being developed by a diverse cross-section of individuals and groups that reflects the American people and culture. From the earliest stages of the project – through the inspiring cross-country trip displaying the World Trade Center steel – the outpouring of support and ownership has been incredible. And this strong momentum and national unity have only continued to grow throughout the development of this project.

On September 11, 2001, the world changed forever. In a few brief moments, a vicious and unprovoked terrorist attack made an irreversible impact on our people, our nation and the global community. While the loss was immeasurable, this tragedy revealed the extraordinary spirit, courage and resolve of the American people. September 11, 2001 is another date that will live in infamy.
Freedom’s Flame is the story of two identical sculptures designed, created and erected by a multidisciplinary team of distinguished leaders, representatives of the arts, the military, criminal justice, firefighters, small business, major corporations, public administration and the non-profit sector.
The Freedom’s Flame memorial itself, to be located in Ontario (California), commemorates 9-11 and honors the heroes and families touched by this event.
A second – and identical – sculpture will be presented to New York City as a gift, creating a strong bi-coastal link and a powerful national tribute.
Freedom’s Flame is a respectful reminder that will live for generations.
