Jim HoweBusiness — Company
Jim Howe Concerts is the creation of a little elf by the name of Jim.
This all started way, way back in the day, when Jim’s son was in a punk band. One day this punk band needed someone to run the sound for an upcoming show at the famous Springville Center for the Arts. (To this day it is still unclear why anyone would need “sound” to be run during a punk show.)
From those days of punk and heavy metal shows grew, Jim Howe Concerts. That name was actually given and embedded into the minds of music goers throughout the world after a ‘An Evening of Bag Pipes and Celtic Music’, held at the art center on Saturday, June 13, 2009.
Unbeknownst to Jim Howe Concerts, the art center only legally holds 120 people. Even though the head liner tried to convince Jim that no one would come to an Irish/Celtic show in June, Jim booked it. That show, produced by Jim Howe Concerts, with the help of the world famous Jim Tuttle and Gerry Hashagen, saw 179 tickets sold. Needless to say, the area code enforcer paid the art center a visit the following week and said ‘you can’t do that anymore’.
These days, Jim still does plenty of shows at the Springville Center for the Arts, and most recently has begun to venture out on his own, booking gigs in various venues. While it seems that most shows Jim books are Celtic/Irish in nature, Jim is always looking for more entertainers and bands to book.
If you are a band or entertainer looking to book a gig, send us an email. We’d love to talk to you!
