Yes, It is true this project was started by a Junior (at the time, in Feb. 2011) in high school, Alex. Alex reached out to Kira Johnson for help in creating by-laws and a business plan to start their non-profit venture.

Now the board consists of two;

We will let you know when we own the park and are able to start clean up, we will need tons of volunteers.

The current owner of the park is Margaret Nelson, she has let us into Joyland a few times to tour the park so we know exactly what needs to be done and what things we would like to add. Margaret is very excited for us and hopes we can reopen the park.

Most of the rides are still there, all except the train, round up, swings, and the paratrooper. Louie and the wurlitzer are no longer there.

We plan to replace the missing rides, with identical or better rides.

The park will reopen and be the same ol Joyland, with a facelift, and maybe a few new things, but always expect more change and more growth within the park there is a lot of growing room at Joyland.

We plan to keep Joyland and its employees involved in the community, helping other nonprofits, and giving back to the community.

Hopefully that answers the majority of questions out there if not let us know you can email us at info@joylandrestorationproject.org
